Teaching Environmental Awareness from an Early Age
It is important to teach the importance of environmental protection from an early age. Issues such as illegal logging, water pollution from industrial waste, air pollution in urban areas, and environmental degradation in general, especially in Indonesia, are serious problems that require immediate attention. Both the government and the community must work together to protect our environment.
The environment is home to all living things, including humans, animals, and plants, and is essential for their survival. However, human activities cause significant damage, such as deforestation without replanting, which leads to deforestation and disrupts the land’s ability to absorb water and filter carbon dioxide. Continuous coal mining depletes and damages the soil. The use of motor vehicles and industrial facilities causes greenhouse gas emissions, which contribute to air pollution and global warming. In addition, littering has a detrimental impact on the lives of all creatures. These actions, often justified by business interests, ignore our responsibility to future generations. While causing damage may be easy, restoring the environment is much more challenging.
To prevent the recurrence of natural disasters, we, as stewards of the Earth and beneficiaries of its resources, should show our gratitude by preserving and protecting our environment. It is crucial for us to start fulfilling our environmental responsibilities now.
